About
The Pulsing Cinema began in 1995 as a small website situated deep inside the 200 megabyte hard drive of an old Packard Bell 486SX machine with 8 megabytes of RAM. I was hesitant to start a review site because even at that time the internet was clogged with pages full of critiques of every film imaginable. Still, there were a few which fell through the cracks; the incredible horror and italian crime thrillers of Italy were all but ignored – films which I had ignored in my own for many years until I put on those sunglasses and “woke up.” Fulci was well-represented but his lesser-known colleagues were given only a passing glance. I felt there was a gap to fill, and by god I was going to fill it.
I ran the site for a few years with varying degrees of success, eventually making it into the reference section of Videohound’s Guide to Horror. Finally I left for college and had to take the site down.
Well here it is, the new millenium and things are still much the same away were half a decade ago. The internet is still full of reviews and even though numerous Eurohorror sites have now sprung up, I still think there are a few celluloid orphans out there for which the abuse still continues. I hope to explore these lost films as well as delve into the new sea of digital video exploitation which Image, Anchor Bay and other companies are supplying at an alarming rate. I hope you enjoy the ride.
