"The TV Edition has my original ending, which I made the mistake of showing to the studio before the opticals were finished...it was very poetic and moody. It was a much better, more interesting ending. I showed it to the studio and the effects weren't finished; there was a miniature and some light stands, and they didn't know what it was. 'What kind of ending is that?' 'The optical's not done.' 'We don't get it. Have a cheap scare at the end.'"

The standard theatrical cut of Fred Dekker's Night of the Creeps contains a very standard ending which was nothing like the director's original intentions.

The original ending of NOTC has survived through its inclusion in the television cut of the film.
