In our debut episode of LaserCast, we provide a brief overview of the LaserDisc format, also known as Videodisc, Laservision or Discovision. LaserDisc, or LD for short, was the first commercial optical disc format available to consumers. Before CD, DVD and Blu-Ray, LD provided groundbreaking multimedia features in a large futuristic-looking shiny disc.
